What to Bring to Preschool
Backpack & Extra Clothes
Please send a backpack with a full change of clothes labeled with your child's name.
Water Bottle
A spill-proof water bottle helps keep your child hydrated.
Indoor Shoes
Please send a pair of indoor shoes that will remain at the preschool for the school year.
Label Belongings
Please label all items including clothing, bags, and shoes.
Arrival & Pick-Up
Arrival Procedures
Please arrive a few minutes before class begins.
The front entrance of the church will be unlocked approximately 5 minutes before class so families can come inside, help their child remove their coat and backpack, change into their indoor shoes, and settle in for the day.
Late Arrivals
If you arrive after class has started, please ring the doorbell located on the right-hand side of the main entrance.
A staff member will come and let you into the building.
Pick-Up Time
For the safety of everyone in the building, the main entrance remains locked during class time.
Approximately 5 minutes before dismissal, we will unlock the front entrance so families can come inside to pick up their children.
Authorized Pick-Up
For your child's safety, only individuals listed on your child's registration form are authorized to pick up your child.
If you need to add or change an authorized pick-up person during the school year, please let us know and we'll be happy to update your child's information.

Here are some common questions our families ask. If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to reach out—we're happy to help!
What if my child cries at drop-off?
It's completely normal for some children to feel nervous during the first few days or weeks of preschool. Our experienced teachers will comfort and reassure your child while helping them become engaged in classroom activities. Most children settle in quickly and soon look forward to coming to preschool.
What if we need to withdraw during the school year?
We understand that family circumstances can change. If you need to withdraw your child, please provide one month's written notice so we can adjust our class lists and offer the space to another family.
What if my child has allergies?
Please let us know about any allergies or dietary restrictions on your child's registration form, and remind us again verbally on the first day. We take allergies seriously and will do our best to keep your child safe.
Does my child need to be potty trained?
Yes, children need to be fully potty trained in order to attend preschool. We are not licensed to change diapers, but we can assist them in the bathroom if they need help with pulling their pants up and down, wiping, etc.
Can my child attend if they are turning three later in the year?
Yes, children are welcome to join Little Hands Learning Preschool as long as they are three years old by December 31st of the current school year. Depending on class size, parent volunteering may be required until your child turns three.
Can children with special needs attend our program?
Yes, of course, everyone is welcome to join our programs. We work closely with community partners to provide PUF funding for children who require additional supports.
Should my child bring a snack?
Yes. Children are welcome to bring a healthy snack in their backpack each day. If your child lets us know they are hungry during class, we will help them get their snack from their backpack. All snacks must be nut-free.
Can grandparents or someone else pick up my child?
Yes. Anyone listed as an authorized pick-up person on your child's registration form may pick up your child. If you need to add or change an authorized pick-up person during the school year, simply let us know and we'll update your child's information.
Can my child start during the school year?
Yes! As long as space is available in your preferred program, children are welcome to join us during the school year. We accept new registrations until our classes are full.
